Reiki
is a compassionate,
energetic healing art. A
system of natural healing
that positively affects the
whole person. Through the
channeling of universal life
force energy, Reiki assists
in aligning and balancing
every level of being -
integrating the physical,
emotional, mental and
spiritual facets of
ourselves.
Reiki, also known as the Usui System of Natural Healing, was developed in Japan during the last century and has been practiced in this country for more than five decades.
Reiki is based upon the channeling of universal life force energy, the energy that pervades and surrounds all life. Through methods, techniques and practices one learns to focus and direct this energy for specific purposes and outcomes of self-healing.
Reiki may be experienced and practiced in a number of ways. A most common introduction is to receive a "hands on" session with a practtitioner.
A massage table provides the ideal comfort for the practitioner and the recipient during the 45-90 minute session. The Reiki practitioner places her hands in specific positions on the recipients fully clothed body or works within the energy fields.
HOW DOES REIKI HEAL?
When a person receives a Reiki session, God's energy assesses where the person has blocks and then directs the healing energy, usually to the block that is nearest the hands. However, sometimes it will go to the block that is most important even if it is far from the hands. The Reiki energy then works with the negative thoughts and feelings that are blocking one's natural flow and heals them.
Reiki Training
The Usui System of Natural Healing includes three levels of training. The first two levels are practitioner levels and the third, or master level, is available for those who wish to teach Reiki.
REIKI LEVEL ONE
Reiki I certification course will guide you through the history of Reiki, receiving a healing attunement, learning how to energetically clear and center a client's energy field, hand positions for use in treating yourself or others and practice sessions for chair, table and self treatments. Once attuned, the first level practitioner finds that simple intent is all that is required to start the energy flowing!
REIKI LEVEL II
The second level of training introduces symbolic language, and its use in absentee healing, emotional clearing, and other facets of energy work. That aspect is a process of attunement or initiation, a ceremony which honors the individual and assists their connection energetically to their innate healing abilities.
REIKI III MASTER/TEACHER
The third level of training is for practitioners who wish to teach Reiki. This training is offered as a mentorship over a period of approximately four to six months.
WHAT REIKI IS NOT
Reiki is not a religion or religious cult. It has no dogma or specific doctrine of beliefs. Reiki works whether you or the recipient believes in it or not.
Reiki is not channeling, a form of mind control or hypnosis; it is not based on imagination, wishful thinking or visualization and is not dependent upon a certain state of mind. It is not necessary to the in a meditative state to effectively do Reiki.
Reiki does not involve E.S.P. or unusual psychic phenomenon; is not a form of psychic healing or psychic surgery and is not a massage technique.
Reiki Can Never Cause Harm
Because God guides Reiki, it can never do harm. It always knows what a person needs and will adjust itself to create an effect that is appropriate. One never needs worry about whether to give or receive Reiki or not. It is always helpful.
Who Can Benefit From Reiki?
Everyone can benefit from Reiki.
The Reiki method is particularly useful to doctors, pediatricians, nurses, psychologists, non-medical therapists, and all those who care for elderly people. Patients in intensive care units can also benefit greatly from Reiki. Babies and small children are very receptive to energies. Their senses have not yet developed the protective defense mechanisms of adults.
In the healing and caring professions, when normal human contact is important, physical touch treatments, and massages gain a quite different quality when they include Reiki. Elderly and sick people benefit from it on many levels. When their enjoyment of life diminishes, they become sick more frequently and, because of their condition, are then often bedridden. Reiki can nourish and energize such individuals.
Reiki Can Be Complementary
You can continue to receive regular medical or psychological treatment while receiving Reiki. Reiki works to improve the results of medical treatment, acting to reduce negative side effects, such as those from chemotherapy, surgery and invasive procedures. Regular sessions may shorten healing time, reduce or eliminate pain, reduce stress and create optimism.
While Reiki sessions are a wonderful way of maintaining a sense of wellness and well-being, there are other reasons people have chosen to receive Reiki including:
Complementing traditional medical procedures.
Strengthening & revitalizing the body's natural defenses.
Releasing & reducing accumulated stress.
Relieving pain while promoting the physical and emotional healing process.
Promoting inner harmony, calmness and serenity.
Enhancing creativity and personal awareness.
